– Platform strengthens wellness program for more than 500 employees at Mid-South’s most advanced medical care center –
MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 02, 2015 – Green Circle Health (GCH) announced that West Cancer Center, the Mid-South’s premier provider of cancer care for more than 34 years, implemented its online patient-to-provider communications gateway, the GCH Platform, across its entire clinic to strengthen the wellness program for its more than 500 employees.
Functioning as an added layer to existing systems, the GCH Platform merges with existing human resources files and, leveraging a patent-pending workflow that facilitates the collaborative sharing of data, maximizes the accuracy of score monitoring for West Cancer Center employees. In addition, West Cancer Center hopes the GCH Platform will improve participation in its rewards-based wellness program. By increasing the overall health and productivity of its workforce, West Cancer Center reduces the cost of insurance and lost productivity due to absenteeism, which costs employers $225.8 billion annually in the United States ($1,685 per employee) according to a recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“Embracing a more collaborative relationship between medical experts and patients is the future of health care and an approach that aligns with our mission to provide the most advanced care available,” said Erich Mounce, CEO of West Cancer Center. “The GCH Platform impacts our entire organization because it provides our associates with a powerful tool that creates an ongoing culture of employee wellness and will lead to a reduction in overall healthcare expenses. This is another step-in investing in the health of our physicians, employees, and patients, which are all equally critical to our overall success.”
“The GCH Platform provides employees with a greater amount of control in the exchange of medical information and allows employers to create a more comprehensive and unified wellness program with greater incentives,” said Dinesh Sheth, CEO, and founder of GCH. “As a cutting-edge cancer research center focused on revolutionizing healthcare standards, West Cancer Center is constantly optimizing its procedures and practices. Use of the platform emphasizes its strong commitment to individualized patient care and reinforces its role as a trusted medical technology leader within the community.”
The GCH Platform is compliant with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act; it also supports every stage of Meaningful Use.
